Speaker: Deborah Hogan, MPH, BSN, RN
Deborah Hogan is the Florida Nurses Association Southeast Region Director and is the President of the Healthcare Professionals Unit for the state of Florida. She has represented the interests of the healthcare professionals (nurses, nutritionists, psychologists, mental health counselors and dentists) who work at state institutions, hospitals, health departments, and CMS clinics throughout the state, from the panhandle to the keys. Debbie has negotiated with representatives of the Governor and the Legislature. She knows that all nurses are affected by the laws and rules enacted by the state legislature and the Governor. We, as the "health care experts" must serve as the resource for our legislative leaders. Nurses must become advocates.
